The loss of our 40 year old maple tree

Our maple tree was losing branches in storms so we

knew it had to come down.  

The tree provided our children with lots of climbing time 
so it is very sad to see it go.

Kimberly found Easter eggs hidden among the branches.

Ethan was the last grandchild to climb the tree.

We hired "The Tree Fella" and three men arrived at 9:00

October 28, 2010.  One man began to climb.

The limbs began to fall.

The other men placed the branches in their truck.

A risky job...

but he seems unfazed.

Our tree is unrecognizable.

Lots of cleanup but it all fits in their truck.

Finally, only a stump is left.

Next comes the Stump Buster guy...

and that's all that is left of our tree.

Our house looks very different without our tree.

Soon, we'll plant an oak that will last for generations.
