Preparing the house for sale, 2012

The kitchen has been a dark red for many years.  In order to prepare the house for sale,
we decided to go with a more subtle color.  The painting job took several weekends.

We loved the red, but we were afraid it would turn buyers off.

I told Henry there was no need to dress for the occasion.

He changed clothes and attacked the task with great vigor
He started by taping the walls.

Next, we applied Kilz, because we knew the red
would not be covered easily.

We chose the same color we chose for the den...a smoky blue grey.

The room looks so much larger and the atmosphere softer.

The den and the kitchen look quite compatible now.
Here is the den with our new furniture and mission style accessories.

We love our dual LaZ boy recliners.
We recently had the exterior of the house painted professionally.
We're finally getting the house just like we want it...just in time
to sell it.  Sigh...
