NEW FLOORS FOR PLANO...June, 2012

Our old kitchen floor was cracked due to
foundation problems and the grout had seen
better days.  In Texas, it is difficult to use
tile or wood in old homes.  We needed to limit
our choice to a floor that floats over the foundation.

We said goodbye to our tile...it served us well.
And the memories of Patrick, Henry, and Eric
laying the tile over many long days of sweat and toil
will not long be forgotten.

The Master Bath floor goes back to Henry's days
of unemployment.  He needed something
to take his mind off our dire straits.  Putting
down a tile floor, with the help of his wife, wasn't the best choice.

The middle bath had linoleum squares that had seen better days.
That was the easiest room for the Floor Hut workers to remove.
Removal of the kitchen and Master bath tile made quite the noise and the mess.
Just ask Brendan.

We chose a linoleum wood look, dark.  We
wanted a significant contrast with the light
wood of the dining room.

The planks were continued into the the
bath off the kitchen and into the laundry room.

The laundry room is much improved since the
original linoleum from the 70s was still in place.

The middle bath room porcelain tile
makes the room look spectacular.

The Master Bath takes on a whole new look!
Now, with our beautiful floors, saying goodbye
to our home in Plano will be even harder to do.

  1. Very beautiful, Ruth.

I would like to see a picture of where the kitchen floor meets the dining room. Just curious.
